Black Young Professionals of Metro Detroit and Metropolitan Organizing Strategy Enabling Strength (MOSES) stepped out into the Jefferson-Chalmers area of Detroit last weekend to get residents registered to vote. Volunteers successfully connected with over 50 residents on just one street alone, and engaged them with information Town Hall meetings to review issues on this year’s ballot.
We would like to thank all of our volunteers and partner organizations who worked with us to make October 1st a reality. A lot of insight was gained through the interactions volunteers had. We also learned we have much more to do in that area and time is running out quickly.
So we are calling all volunteers new and returning back out on October 9th at 1pm to help disseminate more town hall information and get more people registered. We will again make a difference in the day of the many people we connect with.
Please join us on October 9th, even if you are not a member or affiliated with BYP, to help with our last push registration effort.
