The weekend of February 27th was a another busy one for BYP!
As you know, we regularly volunteer with Habitat for Humanity Detroit (HFH). In late 2015 we kicked-off a relationship with HFH and jumped right in with two construction volunteering events, followed in early 2016 by an all-day multi-shift volunteer stint at their Mack Ave. Restore. More contstruction and Restore events are being planned for the calendar this year!
On Saturday Feb 27th, HFH Detroit had their 5th Annual Red Carpet bash. This is a celebration of the accomplishments over the past year for HFH, its beneficiaries, and recognition of its supporters. Many Detroit dignitaries were on-hand for the event in their best dress to celebrate. Several Habbies™ were awarded to key persons and groups who helped make the past 12 months a success. Along with their new executive director Kenneth V. Cockrel, Jr., the headliner Horace H.B. Sanders hosted the event and provided comic relief.
BYP was in attendance and a great time was had by all. It was a great time to reflect on all the fun we’ve had in the past year with Habitat.
Don’t forget to share your pictures from the night! Looking forward more HFH in 2016!
