On March 17, 2018, Black Young Professionals of Detroit held a mentorship event with the Neighborhood Service Organization (NSO) Youthlink program. Mentors from Black Young Professionals spoke with students who were at various stages of their post-secondary education journeys. The students had plenty of questions ranging from how to survive college, and how do you balance school and a social life, to how to support yourself financially while trying to keep up your GPA. Our mentors were ready to share their experiences and some of the pitfalls they endured while navigating through these and similar hurdles during their undergraduate and graduate education.

It was overall, a very positive experience for both the mentees and mentors. We would like to thank the mentors who supported this event for their invaluable insight.
