Join Black Young Professionals of Metro Detroit in supporting the Detroit College Access Network and United Way for Southeastern Michigan for Detroit College Day 2018 (“DCD”) on March 9th from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Wayne County Community College District in Detroit! The purpose of DCD is to inform and excite high school seniors and juniors about the college planning process and to inspire a college-going atmosphere in the city of Detroit. The event will include a college fair and college knowledge workshops and panel discussions. Fourteen high schools and over 700 students will attend the event.
Volunteers from Black Young Professionals will serve as Room Moderators during the breakout sessions, as well as Wayfinders. Black Young Professionals will also be holding two workshops for the students to attend. Help us put tens of young, positive, Black professionals in front of them on this inspirational day. This will essentially be an all-day event during the workday. Black Young Professionals of Detroit can provide you with a Letter for your employer explaining the event to facilitate a paid day off work to support this tremendous effort.
